Group Critical Illness Insurance
The physical and emotional effects of a critical illness on you and your loved ones can make you feel like you have no control over your own life. It's why your doctor will strongly recommend you have a solid support system in place to help you cope with such an overwhelming occurrence.
Many have touted the importance of a strong support system during times of serious illness, believing it can help speed recovery, cultivate hope, and improve patients' overall well-being.1 AIIT-Endorsed Group Critical Illness Insurance can help provide the support you'll need to deal with an unexpected illness and help cover the substantial healthcare costs associated with it. Focus on what you can control and put a support system in place so you can get well faster and stay healthy longer.
Why Do I Need Critical Illness Insurance?
Healthcare costs are constantly rising. This coverage can supplement your existing health insurance and help cover those hidden expenses that add up, like co-pays, deductibles, prescriptions, and treatment or travel to consult specialists. Most patients recovering from a critical illness need time off work as well. We can support you by offering:
- Simplified issue: answer only a few health questions; no physical exam or medical tests required
- Coverage amounts: up to $100,000 per critical illness ($200,000 for two separate, distinct illnesses)
- Flexible cash benefit: use at your own discretion
- No benefit cutbacks: your benefit amount will not decrease with age
AIIT-Endorsed Group Critical Illness Insurance can provide benefits for the following critical illnesses:
- Cancer
- Heart attack
- Major organ transplant
- Renal failure
- Stroke
Insureds may receive benefits for no more than two separate and distinct critical illnesses.* There is a limited benefit available, up to $25,000, for cancer in situ (a localized state). Please refer to the brochure for a detailed explanation of each critical illness covered.
*The second instance coverage is subject to a six-month waiting period after the first diagnosis.
The Good News. And the Not-So-Good News.
Life expectancy in the U.S. was 77.5 years in 2022.2 With increased life expectancy, however, there are diseases and conditions that threaten health. Consider…
- About one in five heart attacks is silent—the damage is done, but the person is not aware of it.3
- About half of all Americans (47%) have at least one of the three risk factors (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, tobacco use) for heart disease.3
- Heart disease and stroke cost our health care system $214 billion per year.3
Current health statistics are sobering, we know. But staying informed is the best way to reduce fear and anxiety whether you're critically ill or vigorously healthy.
